Introduced in 1962 it had a solid production run of about 8 years.The blue dial offers sharp contrast against the white metal finish, displaying the time with long-lasting Chromalight in white gold surrounds. This design is truly remarkable, from the high-quality gold finish to the legibility of the hour markers and hands.
Each had three chronograph registers, and each also featured a big date – wheels for day and month – and a central hand pointing to a date of the month chapter ring at the edge of the dial. Lug style and size were the main differences between the various references. The Rolex chronograph ref. 6238 was produced from the early 1960’s to 1967. It has a more modern look than the previous chronographs issued by the brand, but still carries the inner tachymetric scale and outside smooth bezel that are typical of the 1950’s.This 50+ year old watch is in fantastic condition, with a beautiful black dial free of any flaws or scratches.
