I bought an Ultrafire CREE XML-T6 many years ago, before I had any clue about flashlights at all. Can someone look at the pictures and tell one way or another? . I know there are probably plenty of fake/counterfeit flashlights out there but has anyone come across fake Cree XM-L T6 LEDs in flashlights?
For the heck of it I looked up the info on the so called "fake Cree" LED's made by Latticebright ( Chinese company ). The data available on their XM-L2 clone ( known as the XM . Hi :) I bought a Cree XML T6 (10W 3.3V 3A) from a Chinese ebay seller. The problem is, I cannot get more that ~0.85A-1A of current on it. I tried driving. It was no surprise that the Lattice Bright XML2 T6 did not compare well against the Original Cree XM-L2 T6. The advantage at 35deg is not that big but as the temperature increases the Cree increases its lead.

A bunch of shitty manufacturers which clone Ultrafire/Sipik zoomie designs steal the Cree name and logo to brand their junk, even though as others noted, it's somewhat likely the emitters used are fakes and not real Crees anyway.
I've had this .50 flashlight for a while now and obviously the 8000K fake CREE T6 is not great. Swapped in a MCPCB with a LH351D and now it's lovely. This was my first proper mod in a while, so I wanted something easy. The Lattice Bright XML2 T6 was horrific blue. The fact that we asked for natural white and got royal bluish white LED’s should not be a big surprise considering the company we are dealing with.
